Located at in Orlando, Florida, this outdoor pickleball flooring project presents a colorful approach to incorporating recreational sports into a modern commercial plaza.
The space features two pickleball courts arranged across an open pedestrian area, surrounded by contemporary commercial buildings. Instead of adopting a conventional sports court color scheme, the design uses two shades of purple to create an inviting recreational environment that complements the surrounding urban setting.
Rather than using conventional green or blue court colors, the project combines rich purple perimeter areas with lighter lavender playing surfaces. The contrasting shades create a recognizable visual identity while helping distinguish the playable court areas from their surroundings.
Purple Pickleball Court Surface Design
One of the defining characteristics of this project is its coordinated two-tone court design. The light lavender playing areas contrast with the darker purple surrounding surface, giving the courts a clean and contemporary appearance.
White boundary lines provide clear visual separation across the playing areas, while the portable net systems support a flexible court arrangement.
The outdoor pickleball court design includes several practical features:
- Two-tone purple flooring: Creates contrast between the playing zones and surrounding areas.
- Clearly marked court lines: Helps players identify court boundaries during recreational games.
- Multiple court layout: Allows different groups to participate in pickleball activities at the same venue.
- Portable net systems: Provides flexibility for court management and recreational events.
- Commercial plaza integration: Makes use of an open paved area within a modern urban environment.
Outdoor Pickleball Flooring for Commercial Recreational Spaces
Commercial properties are increasingly exploring ways to introduce recreational activities that encourage visitors to spend time in shared outdoor areas.
In this Orlando project, the pickleball courts occupy an open plaza surrounded by modern commercial buildings and pedestrian spaces. The colorful playing surfaces make the sports area visually prominent without requiring a traditional standalone sports complex.
The court arrangement also supports different types of recreational use, including casual games, group activities, and community pickleball events.
For developers and facility operators planning similar spaces, commercial pickleball court flooring can be incorporated into various environments, including shopping plazas, leisure complexes, community recreation areas, and mixed-use commercial developments.
Custom Pickleball Court Flooring Design Considerations
A successful pickleball court project requires more than an appealing color scheme. Court dimensions, surface condition, line markings, surrounding clearance, and installation requirements should all be considered during project planning.
For outdoor commercial applications, the flooring system must also be selected according to expected traffic, local climate, maintenance requirements, and the condition of the existing substrate.
This project highlights the visual possibilities of custom pickleball court flooring, particularly for commercial properties seeking a distinctive recreational space. The purple and lavender combination offers an alternative to traditional court designs while maintaining the recognizable layout of a pickleball playing area.
